Dear user, The data controller is BHNAILED S.R.L. with registered office in NOLA (NA) CIS, ISOLA 4 TORRE 4 SNC CAP 80035 INT. 403/404 (hereinafter “WhiteList Pro” or the “Data Controller”), which can be contacted by email at info@bhnailed-agency.com , provides this cookie policy, with the aim of illustrating the types and purposes of the cookies used.
WhiteList Pro has appointed a data protection officer in compliance with Articles 37 et seq. of European Regulation no. 679/2016 who can be contacted for all issues related to the processing of personal data and the exercise of the rights of users provided for by the privacy policy and personal data processing regulations, at the following email address info@bhnailed-agency.com.
1. What are cookies?
Websites use cookies, internet tags, and similar technologies (collectively referred to as “cookies”) which are technically small files that contain packets of information sent by a web server to the internet browser of the visitor/user and automatically stored on the device (personal computer, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) and automatically sent back to the server every time the site is accessed. The cookie can only be used by the web server that issued it (or by any third parties with whom it was originally shared); this means, for example, that cookies generated by WhiteList Pro cannot be read by servers managed by third parties. The cookie is then read and recognized by the website that sent it every time you make a subsequent connection.
2. What are cookies for?
Cookies are useful because they allow the website to store the user’s browsing preferences and then customize the website according to their needs, improving the user’s browsing experience. Cookies can for example make using the website more convenient and/or enable certain features. For example, cookies can prevent you from having to enter the same information multiple times during a visit. In certain cases, cookies can also make sure that the online advertisements displayed are more suitable for the user or relevant to their interests.
3. According to which categories can cookies be grouped?
The cookies used on the websites can be distinguished based on the following criteria:
a. Based on who manages the cookies:
i) proprietary or first-party cookies: these cookies are installed and managed directly by the Data Controller;
ii) third-party cookies: these cookies are generated and managed by third parties other than WhiteList Pro;
b. Based on how long they remain active:
i) session cookies: these cookies store the necessary information during the browsing session and are deleted immediately after the session expires, or when the browser is closed;
ii) persistent cookies: these cookies are stored on the user’s hard disk and the website reads them every time the user makes a new visit. A persistent cookie has a set expiration date after which it will stop working.
c. Based on the purposes they serve:
i) technical cookies: these are necessary cookies that allow the user to navigate the websites and use their features. Without these cookies, some services or functions would not be provided and navigation on the websites would not be easy and functional;
ii) analytics cookies: these cookies are used to obtain statistical information, in aggregate or non-aggregate form, on the number of users accessing the websites and how the websites are used;
iii) profiling cookies: these are used to trace a profile of the user so that they can view advertising that may be in line with their interests, as consistent with their tastes, interests and consumption habits.
4. What categories of cookies are used by WhiteList Pro?
Below are the categories of cookies used by the websites.
a. Technical cookies
This type of cookie allows the proper functioning of some sections of the websites and is essential to allow the user to navigate the websites and use their features. Technical cookies are used, for example, to recognize the user who has logged in to their email account and keep the session open even when visiting other pages of the websites, or to ensure certain security measures of the websites and monitor their proper functioning.
Technical cookies can be divided into two categories:
- Navigation cookies: They ensure the normal use of the websites and are usually session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; these cookies are necessary for the operation of the website and cannot be deactivated on our systems. If you refuse these cookies by changing your browser settings, we cannot guarantee the operation and performance of the website during your visit.
- Functionality cookies: They allow you to navigate the websites based on a series of selected criteria (e.g. language or country of origin) in order to improve the services provided on the website. These are persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device even after the browser is closed, until the expiration date set for each cookie (typically from two months to two years) or until they are deleted by the user. If you refuse these cookies, you will not be able to use the aforementioned navigation functions, which could impact the performance of the websites and your browsing experience.
b. Analytical cookies
These cookies are used to collect statistical information, in aggregate or not, on the use of the websites by users who access the websites and how they navigate the websites.
The website uses this information to obtain anonymous statistics in order to improve user use and make the contents more aligned with visitors’ desires. Some cookies are used to calculate the value of the advertising offer, identify individual advertising messages, and know which ones have been selected and when. As required by applicable laws, prior consent of the user is required for the installation of third-party analytical cookies. If you give your consent to the installation of analytical cookies, the Data Controller will track this consent through a specific technical cookie. In this way, it will be possible to avoid re-presenting the cookie banner during future visits to the website.
The user is free to give their consent to the installation of analytical cookies and revoke it at any time, through the table below or through the CMP (as specified below in the cookie policy), without the possibility of visiting the website and enjoying its contents being compromised, however, if you do not consent to these cookies, the Data Controller will not know when you visited the websites and will not be able to improve the performance. To know how to do this, the user can read the third-party cookie information by clicking on the links in the table above.
These cookies are used to understand how users interact with the contents (including advertising) present on the websites and mobile applications, and also include the Nielsen “Software Development Kit” (“SDK”) cookie. In particular, we illustrate what happens following the installation of the SDK:
- Nielsen processes the following personal data of users: IP address, User Agent, Advertising ID (with specific reference to mobile applications), Content ID (intended as the set of codes related to the detected content, which does not include the URL of the same).
- a) through the re-direct from the users’ browser, it receives in plain text the following data: IP address, relative User Agent, additional meta-data included in the re-direct (the complete list can be consulted at the following link: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2616#section-5.3)
b) through communication from Nielsen, in encrypted form, Facebook receives the following data: Content ID and Advertising ID.
Because some of the aforementioned personal data, through the Nielsen SDK, are transferred to Facebook in a visible format so that these data can be enriched – always on an aggregate basis – with the indication of age and gender (age / gender) of users, the Nielsen SDK is installed only with the prior consent of users. Naturally, users have the option, once the cookie is installed, to request its uninstallation (opt-out), clicking on the following links: https://priv-policy.imrworldwide.com/priv/browser/it/it/optout.html#choices , to opt-out from browser; https://priv-policy.imrworldwide.com/priv/mobile/it/it/optout.html to opt-out from app / mobile. In case of opt-out, users’ navigation will not be tracked by Facebook and Nielsen will only be able to collect aggregate data on traffic volumes.
c. Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are used to group users into homogeneous categories based on, for example, user preferences. These cookies can be used, among other things, to send advertising messages in line with the user’s behavior on the network and their browsing interests. In accordance with applicable regulations, prior consent from users is required for the installation of profiling cookies. The user is free to give their consent for the installation of profiling cookies and revoke it at any time, through the table below or through the CMP (as specified in the cookie policy) without compromising the ability to visit the Site and access its content. However, even if you decide not to give your consent to the use of profiling cookies, advertising will still be displayed on the Sites, but it may not be in line with your interests or preferences. If the user gives their consent to the installation of profiling cookies, the Data Controller will keep track of this consent through a specific technical cookie. This way, it will be possible to avoid proposing the cookie banner during future visits to the site. Profiling cookies are installed by the Data Controller and by third parties acting as independent data controllers (third-party cookies).
In particular, profiling cookies that can be installed through the sites, with the user’s consent, allow for the following purposes:
- Store and/or access information on a device: cookies, device identifiers, or other information can be stored or accessed on the user’s device.
- Select basic ads: show ads based on the content viewed by the user, the app used, the approximate location, or the type of device used to browse the Sites.
- Create personalized ad profile: create a profile of the user and their interests to show personalized ads.
- Select personalized ads: show personalized ads based on the user’s profile.
- create personalized content profile: create a profile of the user and their interests to show relevant personalized content.
- Select personalized content: select personalized content to show based on the user’s profile.
- Evaluate ad performance: evaluate the performance and effectiveness of ads viewed by or interacted with by the user.
- Evaluate content performance: evaluate the performance and effectiveness of content viewed by or interacted with by the user.
- Conduct market research to generate audience insights: use market research to learn more about the audience visiting the Sites and viewing ads.
- Develop and improve products: use data on the user’s browsing activity to improve existing systems and software and develop new products.
- Ensure security, prevent fraud, and debug: monitor browsing activity to prevent fraudulent activity and ensure that systems and processes are working properly and securely.
- Select personalized content: the user’s device may receive and send information to allow them to view ads and content and interact with them.
To pursue one or more of these purposes, the profiling cookies installed through the Sites may also make use of the following features:
- Match and combine offline data sources: data from offline sources can be combined with the user’s online activity to support one or multiple purposes.
- Link different devices: determine the belonging of different devices to the same user or their family unit, to support one or multiple purposes.
- Receive and use the features that the device automatically sends for identification: distinguish one device from other devices based on information it automatically sends, such as IP address or browser type.
- Use precise geolocation data: precise geolocation data can be used to support one or multiple purposes, meaning the user’s location can be determined with accuracy within a few meters.
- Scan the device’s characteristics for identification: the device can be identified based on a scan of its unique combination of characteristics.
5. Methods of managing the consent and refusal of cookies
When a user accesses the site and has their browser set to accept cookies, they can express their preferences regarding the various types of cookies through the pop-up banner displayed on the site’s pages. These preferences will be recorded in a dedicated cookie consent management platform (CMP), developed in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation and in line with the guidelines and instructions provided by IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) to allow the user to make their choices in a granular manner. The CMP allows the user to give or withdraw consent for various types of cookies, whether they are directly released by WhiteList Pro or by its partners and providers; this means that it is not necessary to express a preference for each individual cookie or for each third party, although the choice for each individual third party is still possible directly through the CMP or in the tables above. The different types of cookies are identified and classified based on the purposes for which they are released and used, making them easier to recognize.
In particular, when the user accesses the site, through the pop-up banner, you can choose to:
- Accept the installation of all categories of cookies listed above by clicking the “Accept and Close” button.
- Access the CMP and choose which categories of cookies to accept or reject based on the purposes or by the third party, by selecting or deselecting them individually, by clicking the “Learn More and Customize” button.
6. How to change the choices relating to cookies through the site?
In the event that the user has already expressed their preferences and therefore does not see the pop-up banner when accessing the site, they can at any time access the CMP and modify their choices regarding cookies.
7. Management of cookies through browser settings
By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. By modifying the settings of the browser used, the user can choose to make the installation of any type of cookie subject to their prior consent or completely prevent its installation. The configuration of each browser is different. Below are more detailed instructions for managing cookies by the user for the most popular browsers. The manufacturers of browsers may update or modify the references of the links below from time to time, so it is recommended to always check the instructions provided by the manufacturers of the browsers used to understand how to set cookies.
8. Changes to the cookie policy
This cookie policy may be subject to changes over time, even connected to the possible entry into force of new sector regulations, the update or provision of new services or technological innovations. Such changes will be communicated through the website.
